Baby animals.

Pretty much nothing is cuter than animals, except for maybe, well, baby animals.

How sweet are these portraits from The Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose? I think they would make a lovely baby shower gift.

The baby monkey just kills me! It reminds me of my friend Lauren and her love for this video.

And look at this sweet little crane! Check out more baby animals here. A big thank you to my friend Camille Styles for tipping me off to these new little friends.

Pool with a view.

After Typhoon Vicente last Monday and a week of non-stop rain, we are finally enjoying some sunny days!  Vicente, was ranked a Typhoon 10 — the biggest to hit the island in 13 years. Our entire street was covered with fallen debris and trees for several days and lots of people reported feeling intense swaying in their high-rises; Winds reached up to 87mph. How adorable is our neighbor Emmanuel by the way?!

Two weeks till baby: Practicing.

There are just two short weeks until I’m due, but the Dr. says the baby could come any day now!

So we’ve been doing a little practicing around these parts.

Trying to make sure we’re all ready, both physically and mentally, for the baby!

As it turns out, it’s pretty all consuming at the end. We’re dying to know if it’s a boy or girl! And just very exciting to meet him/her.

Carrying your camera in style.

I really love our DSLR camera, but I really hate carrying it around.

Our black nylon case just really doesn’t do it for me, so I end up throwing it into whatever bag I’m carrying, which really isn’t great for the camera.

The Claremont camera bag from Lo & Sons seems pretty nifty. It has room for your camera and a lens or flash, which would be perfect.

I also recently discovered a cool Hong Kong-based etsy shop !mo, which sells pretty straps to add a little personal style to your camera.

I think a nice leather strap would also be quite cool.

This one is from Motto and is personalized… a great gift.

This washi tape design is actually a cover for your existing strap, but I think it’s super smart that it has a pocket for your lens cover–very handy! From Loop De Loop.

Crazy throne playroom.

Hong Kong is first and foremost a vertical city. It takes skyscrapers to another level. It’s not just that there are really tall buildings here, which there certainly are… some of the tallest in the world. It’s that there are SO many really tall buildings and there are really tall buildings all over the place… not just in Central. I’m always amazed when 30 minutes outside the city center, there are still mega, high-rise complexes.

So how does all that relate to two nutcrackers? Well recently we went to a party in a friend’s apartment building and one of the perks of many of the tall buildings here is that they come with lots of amenities… nice bars to host functions and fun play rooms, like the castle themed one above, for the kiddos. We just couldn’t help but pose on the throne for a pic. Can you blame us?! I’m not sure what message it is exactly that you send your kids when you have them play on a throne…
