Getting ready for….

… My favorite day of the year!! Seriously, I think I may love St. Paddy’s day even more than any other. It’s such a great holiday I think in part because it’s a little unexpected. I’ve been having a lot of fun over the last few days explaining what exactly it even is; a lot of the Chinese and Filipinos here have never even heard of it.

Don’t know what you’re making tomorrow?? How about corned beef, champs, Irish soda bread? And then finish with caramel corn and Irish Carbomb Cupcakes.

Okay… back to the kitchen for our party tomorrow!! Wishing you all the Luck of the Irish.

  1. Your St. Patty’s day feast was saved by Leap Year this year. What if St. Patty’s day was on Friday during lent? What would you have served??

  2. Still on a high from the Carbomb Cupcake, and the ‘pots of gold’ are just genius, and both a labor of love I am sure. Everything was so beautiful and festive. We had a lot of fun. Thank you for all the work to make it happen!

  3. Robyn, where I live (New England) the Bishops often give dispensations for meat eating on St. Patrick’s Day. Not sure about the rest of the world…

Natasha, I’m a long-time lurker who found you through your MIL’s blog. Congratulations on the dragon baby!!

    • I’m so relieved to hear of the Bishops St. Patrick’s Day dispensation… that is such a relief… because it really wouldn’t be St. Paddy’s without corned beef, right?!
