5 great gender-neutral Baby Shower gifts + GIVEAWAY: Wooden Blocks

It seems like I’m now on my way from wedding-land to baby-land, so I asked my dear friend and neighbor Kirsten for some reccomendations for great baby gifts from her toy shop Hocusadabra… I always have a hard time with gifts when the gender is a surprise. Read through to enter our block giveaway!

1. BPA-free bath toys. The most important time to use BPA-free products is at bath and feeding time because chemicals leach when the plastic is warmed. The stackers are great for washing the little one and for playing when they’re a bit bigger. And aren’t the tugboats just super fun? Love the colors.

2. Organic Bamboo Hand Printed Baby Wrap: Babies love to be swaddled up and this is the softest wrap ever. Made from 100% bamboo and printed in the sweetest patterns: sampans and cherry blossoms. Perfect for any Asian-born baby or any baby with loved ones in the Far East. The blue satin edging is swoon-worthy.

3. Pram Rattle: A stroller is way too big and too personal of a purchase for a shower gift (unless you’re going in on it with a bunch of friends), but this pram rattle will work with whatever stroller your friend chooses. And it will make sure she never mistakes her pram for another’s! Plus, it makes sweet, little jingle sounds to entertain your little one.

4. Bunny. It is the year of the rabbit after all.

5. Amazing products for mom and baby. These are great little ‘stocking stuffers.’ A cult item on every woman’s lips in Australia, Lucas’ Papaw ointment is made from pure Australian papaw (papaya). Its benefits are endless, cleaning away nasty infections and keeping baby’s skin as soft as it should be, perfect for the nappy area… doubles as the best balm for mum. And the World’s Best Soap is a delicate baby soap made with eudermic oils and enriched with honey, calendula and almond protein. It’s great for anyone with sensitive skin.

GIVEAWAY: Finally, Hocusadabra is giving away this fine set of Count & Stack blocks to one lucky reader. The blocks have numbers one one side and drawings on others that stack up to create rocket ships and trains. I just love the authenticity of wooden blocks. It’s so nice to have something non-plastic, don’t you think?

To enter, leave a comment with your favorite gift to give or the best gift you’ve ever received at showers… wedding or baby showers are both okay. The gift will be shipped to you wherever in the world you are so anyone is free to enter. A winner will be chosen by random.org on July 15th! Thanks for entering.

  1. Those are indeed cute gifts! The blocks are adorable, and the idea of the trains and rockets is genius.

  2. Oh, we have to put the comment here? I thought maybe on their site… okay, well, you can just count me once 🙂 The nicest shower gift I received was spray oil with a lovely scent for applying after I shaved my legs. Every new mom needs a personal gift like that!

  3. The nicest baby shower gift I received was a handmade wooden rocking from my father in law. It is truly stunning, beautifully crafted out of rich wood and large enough for my 18 month old to enjoy it for a few more years. Soon after she was born, he also engraved a gold sign on the horse with her name, made with love from Poppi.

  4. The nicest shower gift I received was my boppy. I breastfed for 15 months and used it multiple times a day.

  5. Oh, my favorite gift to give at a baby shower is a silver baby cup for the little one. My grandmother gave one to my siblings and I and it has proved to be such a great tradition, I am more than pleased to pass it along.

  6. I gave a bathset complete with portable bathtub for a coworker’s babyshower. I always found that washing babies in the kitchen sink was not a good idea since it’s hard to ensure that the area is germ free.

  7. Those are adorable! I like giving personalized item if they know the gender/name. If not, I go with a sleep sack!

  8. I think that the blankie with the sampans is precious! and being bamboo is so cool! The best guift I got for my last baby shower was a 100% cotton swaddler blankie, Because my girls were allergic to polyester and that was all i had at the time. I think all of the ideas were very cute though.

  9. Best gift I received is the one I most often pass along (well, I purchase a new one…I’m too attached to mine and manage to still squish my third child into it): a PeanutShell sling. It’s like a cozy extension of the in utero days so baby sleeps peacefully or snuggles happily; and, mom has two hands free to make dinner or chase other wee ones!

  10. My favorite gift for my baby shower was Lansinoh! I couldn’t imagine life without it those first few months, and I wouldn’t have known to get it on my own ahead of time!!

  11. I love to give board books at showers. Every baby should have his or her own library!

  12. I can’t choose my favorite shower gift, so many sweet and thoughtful ones. The most fun was a fishing rod for Jack! He is finally old enough to use it. 🙂

I love the pram rattle, it’s nice to have something cute to entertain that will not fall off!

  13. The best gift I got was a winnie the pooh musical mobile. The baby loves falling asleep to it. It really helps to soothe and calm her for a good night’s sleep!

  14. The best gift I’ve seen at a baby shower was a handcrafted book shelf with half a dozen books to get the baby’s library started.

Thank you for the chance to win!

  15. I love the give Boppys/My Brest Friends/etc. for baby shower gifts…they always get well used!

  16. Those are indeed cute gifts! I think pram rattle is most lovely gift.

  17. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on gender neutral baby gifts.

  18. Packaging:5This is about as standard as it gets – a 5 hour centerpoint
energy arkansas (Rowena) shaped bottle with a
wrap. Cut them to equal sizes then glue them to one of the ends of the tank.
To break into such a safe, if a thief knows where the bolts are located
on the door, he just has to drill through and hammer on the bolts to make them recede.

  19. s shoe range also features a striking range of kitten heel shoes and
pretty ballet flats. Therefore, the shoes which are being manufactured today are more stylish,
comfortable and luxurious. White glitzer high heels just do
not seem to work very well and should not be worn with jeans.
