Loveramics.

I’m a real sucker for family-run businesses and I adore china, so I pretty much can’t say enough good things about Loveramics.

After providing china for dozens of establishments for decades, they finally decided to create their own line a couple of years ago and their designs are super fresh and affordable.

This green line reminded me so much of Heath Ceramics and was my personal favorite because it mixes East with West… all of the plates double as lids on the bowls, as you would serve soup or noodle dishes in the East or they can be used as salad dishes or bread and butter plates as is commonplace in the West. The lid of the mug is also its saucer.

Another favorite is their ‘A Curious Toile’ which is a playful take on a traditional toile. It’s also sold at Liberty of London and Lane Crawford, although I’d suggest going to their Sheung Wan locale for the best price.

Grace, who is usually at the shop, married into the family business and couldn’t be more sweet. She has graciously donated adorable mugs to our Sending Love to Japan charity event. I recently bought a mug there for a friend’s birthday, but it would also be a cool spot to get a whole set of dishes! Loveramics, 37 Tung St, Hollywood Road, Central, HK

  1. Those toile pieces are really darling. They are more than toile — they are sort of little imaginative toile-like objects…
