Spud & Chloë yarn.

I would never have thought I would be brand-loyal when it came to yarn of all things. But I do just adore Spud & Chloë.

I just love knitting baby blankets and their yarn is this awesome wool/cotton blend that is warm, as soft as can be, and is also machine washable. So what did I bring back with me when I returned from the States? A suitcase full of their latest colors!

I think Bubble (below) is my favorite new color.

Ballerina is absolutely lovely as well.

Here is a picture of my brother-in-law with the blanket I knit for our new nephew… I didn’t realize my blanket was going to be involved in Call of Duty!
I really grew to love the cider color. When you’re making a monotone blanket, color is really important!

My clever SIL is entertaining her son with a Christmas ornament attached to a Swiffer!
I am hoping to get a group of girls together here in HK for a “Stich n’ Bitch” (that’s what my Mom calls this, by the way) sometime soon so I can start doing something with all those skeins… by the way, why in the world don’t they just come as balls? Does anyone know?

  1. Really lovely yarn. I knew a group once who called themselves the Knit Wits. I thought it was cute 🙂

  2. You knit, you cook. What don’t you do??!!? Teach me to knit, as I would love to be involved in “stitch and bitch!” That’s hilarious.

  3. I’m totally with you on the yarn thing. Why don’t they just come as balls?! I’m making a blanket right now (crochet, not knit) and I jumped into my last color without remembering to turn it into a ball first, very annoying…

  4. Howbout a virtual Stitch n’Bitch? 🙂 Love those yarns- the colors are gorgeous!

  5. I am pretty sure I’ve read that the yarn comes in skeins so that they are easier to pack and stack. You can buy (or make!) a ball winder and a swift is also handy!

  6. I feel like those two photos make the parenting in that household look a little bootleg… 😛 (I’m allowed to say this since I know that it is anything but. 🙂

  7. OMG. How cute is that their tag/branding? I don’t knit but I did buy some yarn just the other day. It’s cotton yarn by “Sugar ‘n Cream”. I couldn’t help but notice that the “red” and “hot blue” match HKH perfectly. You’ll see soon 🙂

  8. I am so happy you got a knitting group going. I loved the several “stitch and bitch” groups I participated in. I need a new project to start here. I have made several fingerless gloves.

  9. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on blog. Regards
