Sham Shui Po: Ribbon porn.

Stationery and ribbon go hand and hand. And you know I love stationery so Sham Shui Po’s Nam Cheong Street is basically pure heaven for me. I honestly had no idea there was this variety of ribbon in life!

Sham Shui Po is down the red line and you’ll want to take exit A2… walk just a few blocks to Nam Cheong Street where the ribbons and lace are.  Beads and buttons are on Yu Chau Street. This garment district is really for fashion industry members so some shops only sell whole sale, but usually if you’re nice they’ll sell you 10 or 20 yards.

My friend Lauren and I ventured out to buy ribbon for a special upcoming wedding shower… the ribbon is so inexpensive we were able to get dozens of varieties all in our purple and white color palette.

I went back again the other day to get my mother-in-law some ball trim for a bedroom re-do she is working on–she plans on trimming a quilt and curtains. I can’t get enough of these unique patterns!

These linen ribbons were so French looking. It’s hard to believe they’re made in China!

I plan on using this pretty heart ribbon for Valentine’s Day! And maybe on anniversary or birthday gifts for extra special sweeties. The couple at this shop was so sweet and helpful, even though they don’t speak much English. My Mandarin numbers came in handy!

I can’t help but showcase some of the lace as well… I had no idea the variety of lace out there. Wow. Just amazing.

I hope all these amazing trimmings made your weekend outlook a little prettier!

I don’t think so… for plain cards and envelopes I would recc a traditional Chinese stationery shop. They are packed to the gills with things like this! My favorite one is on Stanely street, right off of the costume lane.
