I just finished the second season of The Good Wife, which is based upon the Elliot Spitzer scandal. I won’t say its the best show ever, but it’s highly entertaining and it got better with every show. I love having a girls-show that I can watch on iTunes to unwind when the Mr. is away.
I especially loved Diane’s (Christine Baranski) look. She’s a named partner at the central law firm in the show. I have a minor obsession with older women who execute a classic look perfectly, as she does.
Like almost all female politicians, she always has either an embellished neckline or a signature necklace. Often she also has a ring, bracelet, or broach (but not all three) with pop as well. Her clothes are always well-tailored, emphasize her thin legs, and never show upper arm. She sticks to solid, jewel tones and I think it really works for her. Encouraging to know you can have impeccable style at any age!
Also, the show’s writers (a husband and wife team) talk about wives weighing whether or not to forgive their errant husbands in this NYTimes piece yesterday.
