So I wondered the other day why there were so many little stands set up all over town laden with fruit and burning incense… not just in front of tiny shops, but also in the lobbies of skyscrapers. As it … Continue reading →

That is awesome!
Hi Natasha,
Long-time reader, here, via LMLD. My family is hosting a Chinese New Year party next Sun. for a friend who is here in the USA from China for school/job. She’s homesick, and we want to give her a little taste of home. We have some great decorations and party ideas, but we’re coming up EMPTY on food. Knowing NOTHING about Chinese food (other than fast-food) I hoped you might be able to share some recipes or ideas for {{easy}} Chinese food to feed a crowd – even noodles or fried rice – anything! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Hi Meg! What about this: http://hkhousewife.com/china/a-take-on-peking-duck-at-home/
Also, you could order take-out dim sum and just reheat it? http://hkhousewife.com/domesticities/red-tie-party-dim-sum-dinner/ I’m sorry I can’t be more help… while I’ve dappled in lots of Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cooking here, I haven’t done as much Chinese!
Oooo… thanks so much, Natasha! Both links are excellent, with the second giving lots of ideas in decoration, style, etc. Thanks a million!
