So our stuff has arrived! It’s quite exciting, it sort of feels like Christmas morning opening it all up… it’s just bizarre to see your beloved couch or your stained towels all the way in China, you know?

I should mention that I have a lot of stuff. That was true before we got married (one year ago on Sunday!), but it’s even more true after all of the wedding gifts we received. The Mr. can not do stuff. At all. He had literally the bag on his shoulders and a few stacks of clothes when we got hitched and is absolutely appalled by the extensive “dowry” I brought with me. He nicely brought me lunch in the middle of the move, but when he saw these boxes he literally broke out in a full sweat and sprinted down the hill back to the office.

The scary thing is we put a lot of stuff in storage, too. Even I wish we had less stuff now… but nevertheless as things emerge from their packing it’s starting to feel more and more like we actually live here, as opposed to an extended vacation.Back to it… I’ve got my work cut out for me! Somehow the toaster ended up in the same box with toothpaste and the printer cables so there is a lot of sorting to be done.

  1. Ha Ha! It’s hard not to accumulate stuff, and I must say (don’t ask me how I know this) that your dear Mr. might not *carry* a lot of stuff but I think he has more stuff than he realizes! 😉

    Love you!

  2. This Leila character clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

  3. Wow yes that will keep you busy for a while. My husband was a bit the same when we got married, but last time we moved it took a LARGE truck for a 2 bedroom units worth.
