Coconut beer.

On Friday night, we were out at Frites, with our friend Nate, our very best visitor… I think he’s been out 5 times… and a big beer lover.

They had a special coconut beer on offer that of course we had to try. I could even have a few sips as it’s only 3.6% ABV. I loved how they served it in a coconut! It did taste both very beery and very coconuty and was pretty sweet… a nice dessert or first beer I think. Mongozo also has mango, quniua (like the grain), palmnut (the African palm nut), and banana exotic beers. They’re based in the Netherlands and don’t look like they’re yet available in the US, but I bet they will be soon.

If you’re a big beer lover, Frites has one of the best lists in town. Tip: the Wanchai locale is usually less booked than the Central outpost on Queen’s Road Central.
